Summary: The love and loyalty of one member is about to be tested.
Sungmin looked apprehensively at Leeteuk, who slouched in his seat, nearly asleep. He knew that when the eldest asked him to co-host, someone else was actually moving his tongue. That Leeteuk was hanging onto that one hope that Eunhyuk would return.
He didn't want to tell him some of them had - sadly - accepted the face he forgot about them.
The red light went on and so did the switch in his head. Leeteuk popped up in his seat, dancing with the music. It scared Sungmin a little.
“Super Junior's Kiss the Radio.” The sound - the sync of their voices - didn't fit, but Leeteuk forced himself to ignore it.
“Yah, Sungmin-ah, this is your first time hosting, isn't it?”
“Yeah, it is.”
“Ah, well, welcome.” Leeteuk continued on with the simple banter and Sungmin would answer back and he wasn't lonely - but it sure felt like it.
“Well, we're winding down to the end of our program and - ”
“Ah, Leeteuk-shi...” Sungmin interrupted and pointed to the sound booth. “PD-nim says we have a phone call.”
“Oh really?” Leeteuk looked up. “Who is it?”
Through the glass, the producer shrugged and shook his head.
“They don't know. We'll just have to ask. Yobosaeyo?”
“Yobosaeyo.”
Sungmin looked at Leeteuk and Leeteuk looked at Sungmin. Neither of them could say anything, frozen, for the longest time. The silence filled the radio.
“Annyeonghaseyo, this is Super Junior's Eunhyuk-ah!”
“Eun...Eunhyuk-ah...” Sungmin forced out, recovering quicker than Leeteuk.
“Yea, Eunhyuk-imnida~!” And Leeteuk felt tears in his eyes, but he was smiling.
“Eunhyuk-ah, how are you feeling?” The tears didn't enter his voice. No, for the first time since this all began, Leeteuk was happy.
“Much better now. I...I went to sleep for a while and now, I feel much better.” Leeteuk laughed and Sungmin responded back with a warm, “That's good.” “I just wanted to call to say sorry for the trouble I caused Hyungs.”
“No. No. No. We've caused more trouble for you.” Leeteuk's voice spoke quickly after Eunhyuk. “We're sorry too.”
Sungmin looked over at Leeteuk and saw the tears on the brink of falling out. “Eunhyukkie, you should get a lot of rest, okay?”
“Okay, Hyung. I'll go lie down now. Oh, and Hyung?”
Leeteuk and Sungmin looked up at their mics with wide eyes. “Yeah?”
“Saranghae.”
That bubble of happiness busted and the tears leaked from Leeteuk's eyes. “Saranghae, Eunhyukkie.” His voice, weepy and happy at the same time.
“Saranghae.” Sungmin clicked the phone off and pulled Leeteuk's mic to him. “And on that happy phone call, this is the end of Kiss the Radio for tonight. Thanks for listening, everyone.” The 'On Air' light went off.
Sungmin swiveled towards Leeteuk and gathered the crying leader in his arms.
“He's back Sungminnie. He's back.” He heard Leeteuk whisper over and over.
“I know, hyung. I know.” He attempted to calm the older member, but the truth was he didn't know why he should. He was on the verge of tears himself. He was just so happy.
Over two weeks, they lost and found their precious Jewel. Super Junior was thirteen once more. Super Junior was filled with miracles.
Sungmin felt himself shiver at the thought. Super Junior was 13.
