[Edward was working vigorously on a hedge and what looks like to be a cat playing with a ball of yarn when something hits him on the back of the head that felt like leaves. He stops his work, looks around and shrugs, continuing his rapid movements

[At first, Alfons just... stares at the boy's hands for a while. They aren't like any hands he's ever seen. But he doesn't look like he's any danger at all, since he's just... gardening with them. Then, when it starts raining lettuce, he giggles a little, good-naturedly.]

Be careful around meal times, Herr. It vill be raining food this veek, you might get a little messy.

[Points to his own still light-pink hair. The day before, there was cherry kool-aid, and then he got caught again by the pink lemonade just a few minutes ago. The Animus seem to think Alfons looks good in pink.]

Why are the clouds throwing food?

[He doesn't know anything that's going on. All he knows is that someone or something dumped salad on him. Bits of lettuce are stuck in the buckles and in his messy crop of hair.]

No. It ist a different food for every meal, it looks like. But it vill only be for this veek.

[He thinks about the words some. He's never really heard the word "shy" before, but he has heard quiet and inquisitive.]

I suppose. I am not used...to so many people.

[The only person he ever knew was his father so new people tend to make him a little aware that he's not the only one in the world yet he is unique by design.]
