Late night, disjointed thoughts.

"But every time I reach for you, you slip through my fingers. Into cold sunlight, laughing at the things that I had planned. The map of my world gets smaller as I sit here pulling at the loose threads now."

When we work we wish to do nothing. When we do nothing we wish to work. Happiness exists in progress. In discovery. Happiness exists in change.

However, because happiness exists in cause and effect to produce change this necessitates expectations. We expect a cause to produce a certain effect.

And of course due to inherent imperfection, not all expectations can be met and so there is inevitable disappointment. Therefore, both happiness and disappointment are intimately connected through change.

I can't help but think that even if I had everything in the world, there would still be room to desire more.
