Greetings from California. I finally got a wireless network adapter working on my laptop so I should be more or less "around" from now on while I'm on the road. So far my job is super kick ass. It is the easiest, coolest, funnest job I've ever had, I make more money than I ever have for doing less "work" than I ever have. Who would have thought that my comprehensive understanding of computers and computer programs would land me such an awesome job? Not me.
So far San Fernando / Burbank is pretty cool. My hotel is in Burbank, and we're staying here for 2 weeks, almost done the first week already and I don't even feel like I've done anything. I've pretty much just watched my friend Taylor work, as he trained a franchisee how to use the program that I need to teach people how to use. I can honestly say I pick up the stuff way faster. After watching today's class, I feel as if though I could teach it myself if needed, which is great because eventually I won't be with 2 of my friends and I'll be on my own at a location, but that won't be happening until at least January.
According to my boss' we'll be here in California up until the week of christmas. But since christmas is on a Monday, I think we'll be coming back that week before hand. Nothing is solid yet, for it's still pretty far away. All I know is I don't really feel like spending christmas with my family, and theres only one thing I want for christmas, and I hope I can make that happen.
Yesterday we went driving around after work and discovered downtown Burbank, that has the largest mall I've ever been to. We got some ice cream at a shop where this asian kid flipped the ice cream a good 5 feet in the air and caught it in the dish before serving it, and we went to see Jet Li's Fearless. Not to mention we spent close to $200 for lunch at the Olive Garden of all places, but 3 bottles of wine will do that.
Today we went back to the mall because yesterday Taylor decided he needed to buy a replica of Final Fantasy 7's Cloud's Buster sword. He didnt have his wallet on him then so we went back today to pay for it. I also decided that it was time to cut my hair. Blow drying my hair for the past two mornings, and still not having any luck of keeping it out of my face was a big motivating factor. I had some really tallented gay guy cut my hair, and it looks really nice now. It was the longest and most expensive hair cut I've ever had.
Almost everything I've discussed in this post has pictures that go along with it, but I don't have a cable to hook up my camera to my laptop just this second so I'm going to see if Chris has one I can borrow. Once I do that, I will add pictures.
I guess that's all for now.
