You guys, Con or bust is well short of goals and needs, with just two days to go. This is a sadness!

As much as I'm pushing myyyyy stuff, I totes understand that it's way out of most people's price range now -- hell, it's out of mine! But kate_nepveu's post, linked above, has a list of stuff with no bids on it, or just one bid, and she lists some wonderful ( Read more... )

I just went and placed some more bids.

There's some completely amazing stuff up there, and more still being added!

Guys, seriously, if you think you know what this auction has for sale, but you haven't looked, you will be totally surprised.

I asked to have my membership reimbursed when it came out how the concom had treated nojojojo over MoonFail, but even if I hadn't, I haven't the health to go to any cons at this point.

I must be more out of the loop than I thought. I knew Nora wasn't going this year, but I thought it was only in protest... I didn't know she had been mistreated (!). :(

You're not wrong! She decided not to go in protest of the larger problems. But I partly decided not to go in protest of how people treated her, as well as what it said about the larger problems.

Since then, the decisions/changes Wiscon have made have given me some hope, and I care about supporting people who want to go & make that conversation happen more -- and support the awesome nisi_la. And I might want to go next year...

I do hope we get another opportunity to meet, in any case.

Kept meaning to look, kept not doing so... this reminded me to go. And I did bid on several things. oops. :)

Thankfully, for someone technically unemployed, I have savings enough that I can get away even with winning a bid or two.

...I have a self-imposed limit of $30 because I haven't spoons to be responsible about moneh, so I keep getting outbid.

I probably put up at least $150.00 worth of bids, anticipating losing most of them, and I was indeed outbid past what I'm quite ready to spend in either all of them or all but one, as I can't remember now if I bid on 4 or 5 things... dagnabbit. Guess I'll learn when it closes. :)
