It's been an awful long time since I've stated anything on the internet. I used to be sort of active with the chatting and the writing and then I encountered a series of obstacles. First it was the boyfriend (I may get into that later, more privately) and then it was the new job and then I had a baby, quite by accident, that last.
And it just didn't seem worth the effort to do more than lurk, especially seeing as my newborn demands attention every two to three hours or so.
Circumstances exceptional: Sherlock fandom.
Seriously? ARE you kidding me? It's like every talented writer I've ever read during my long foray into fanfiction have decided to band together to create the most awesome, high quality, interesting, original, emotional and involving stories ever. I was an occasional writer of fic, and then life and now this. I am humbled by the talent displayed in that fandom. It is jaw-dropping and I may begin to feel tempted to try my hand at it again. Sadly, I am more than humbled, I am hugely intimidated despite considering myself fairly good at writing.
Plus, it doesn't help that the last time I wrote anything new, I was five years younger. My vocabulary has dwindled to mostly pathetic proportions and the same can be said for nearly everything I used to be good at.
It is NOT like riding a bike.
