Recap of last night's live.
DecoLa Hopping played first. They have this pirate theme going on, so pirate music was playing in the hall before they started. They even had the Japanese version for the Pirates of the Caribbean OST, which is not sexy when a Japanese Davy Jones is calling out Jack Sparrow's name in the hall. Anyway I didn't know they had a female vocalist, which is pretty cool because she sounded like an anime character, like those boy characters that you know are voiced by a girl. I figured if their band didn't work out, she could always try voice acting. Lol.
I thought amber gris had potential. Instrumentally they sound good, but I just had a feeling the vocals didn't match the music during some parts. They're definitely to watch out for though. They didn't sound like most bands, which is good because I always admire individual style. Eido told me the vocalist was formerly from Ruvie, which was enlightening.
xTRiPx was up next. It was nice to see those boys again. Yoshito was funny during the MC, mocking fangirl steps. He said the girls look like shrimp when they headbang, which is awesome. Ena was pretty cool to stand up while drumming, but he also did some gay poses, which is not as cool. Again I am reminded how Yoshito always sounds breathy when he talks. I wonder if that's really his normal talking voice.
Dali's music was so-so for me, but the vocalist was win. I figure if you're from Osaka, you're bound to have some sense of humor. By the end of his performance he took out this box of tissue with cat doodle on it, then started pulling out tissue like crazy and began stuffing his pants with it. I wondered if the cat was maybe a pussy reference? Lmao.
Then came NightingeiL. I don't remember much from this band, other than the fact that the vocalist talked like he was drunk, because I fell asleep in the middle of their performance orz. I had a long, busy day at work, so I was drained.
After that I wasn't really in the mood to watch the rest of the bands, but then I heard boogieman. Oh, boogieman. They were amazing. Lately I find myself listening only to oshare bands now, but that's because I find few heavy visual bands that sound good, and not just plain noisy. boogieman just blew me away. That, and I think the vocalist's cane was a pretty cool prop.
Last was [_Vani;lla]. All I can say is that their vocalist looks like a Filth in the beauty Ruki, and their bassist looked like a Cassis Reita. Gazette-inspired, much? Anyway we left during the middle of their performance, because Eido and I were both starving. Lol.
There weren't a lot of people that attended yesterday, so it was good because there was a lot of space to move around in. It also felt more at home. I'm worried about the live next week though, because I think that shit's gonna be packed like hell (my ticket number's 643), and I don't think I can hand out the site's press kits and buy stuff easily. Urgh. I hate crowds.
Must have backstage passes soon.
