Hmm
So there's this RL friend that follows my twitter. I say RL but really, we're only casual acquaintances that know each other because she works at my favorite venue and I've been there a thousand times. She knows about fandom and shipping and what not, obviously, since she follows me on twitter. It's not her cup of tea, she thinks it's kind of weird, etc. Anyway, she's reading the 50 Shades series and to go by her tweets, this is like, the most compelling literature she's ever read. Ever. In her life. Like, she stays up all night reading. I've never seen her talk about books like this and these days, every other tweet is about this book she's reading. And I sooooooo want to rec her some internet porn. I just want to shove it in her face and be like, 'READ THIS, IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.' But that would be weird and I won't because she already halfway thinks I'm crazy and I would like it if she didn't feel the need to avoid me in the future. But AAUUGGHHH. Like, every now and again, I think about reading 50 Shades just to see what everyone is talking about but then I remember how much I hated Twilight and how mind-searingly awful the excerpts from it I've read and I just can't bring myself to do it. If that's your cup of tea, good on ya, have at it. I just can't. Though I do like that women are unashamedly reading kink these days. That's one good thing, I guess.
