i want to have a party in the middle of the street
I have been full of flail lately and it has been wondrous!
Monday night, I went with Heather, Shonna, Juanita and two of Juanita's friends to the House of Blues to see the Plain White T's. We had dinner so we could do Pass the Line so we didn't end up lining up until nearly 6:30. Doors were at 7:30. Bless Houstonians' continued ignorance of the wonders of Pass the Line. There were only three girls in front of us and the radio station meet-and-greet, who were allowed to go directly into the venue after the mng, was a very small group so we all scored primo spots on the barrier. I ended up being in my very favorite place to be at a Plain White T's show - right in front of Tim Lopez's mic stand. Hell. Yes.
The show was amazing. It took a couple of listens for me to warm up to Wonders of the Younger but those songs are fantastic live. Tim sang lead on Sunlight and I damn near melted. There was a lot of great banter and a wonderful energy in the room. I hadn't been to a show in so long and this was a wonderful reintroduction to the world of live music.
Last night, Shirley (?) discovered that Panic is listed as one of the bands playing South by Southwest. PANIC IS PLAYING SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST. Twitter could barely contain our flail. I would apologize to everyone who had to watch that but it's been a year-and-a-half since my last Panic show and I needs some Spencer in my life, okay. We don't know the venue or the date but there is a tentative time frame which was more than enough to have me marking off days on my work calendar. GIMME THAT SPENCER SMITH.
And then today, the news of Patrick's digital EP. OMFG DO WANT. For someone who was so resistant to social networking for so long, Patrick is aces at it. I can't wait to see what he'll do next! Well. Ideally, next would be a Soul Punk release date and then tour announcement but who knows with this kid.
In other fannish news, I'm up to episode 10 in s5 of Dr Who! I love Eleven so much! I thought nothing could top Ten but I was wrong! He's amazing. As is Amy. ♥___♥ I almost don't want to finish because then it will be over and what will I watch then? Well, Torchwood because hello Jack/Ianto, but you know what I mean. Also, why didn't y'all tell me that there is literally Jack and Ianto slash in the show? I thought all that squee was about fic!
Right now I'm gearing up for three solid hours of television. Survivor is back. Idk how I got sucked into this show but I can't stop watching. Then Criminal Minds and the spin off which I am mostly watching so I can scoff at how inferior it is to the original. And then, bedtime. All this excitement is exhausting!
