I love your Leon. His kindness and control, always guarding his words and his thoughts and his expressions. You just know that when he finally gave over, it was a choice, because he knew it was a right choice, he wasn't succumbing to temptation. He was just so nurturing and caring and calm - and shaking a bit himself because even calm, he was not unmoved.
It just makes me ache so much, thinking how important and intimate it is for Arthur to have such a gentle, caring mentor for his first time. Leon made it wonderful for him. And set a standard of expectations that Arthur strives to look up to. And Arthur got to feel filled with pride at this very tangible gesture of Leon's approval.
It's seamlessly part of my head canon now. When Leon looks at Arthur from now on, this shared experience will be between them. Thank you SO much for taking up this idea and making it into such a beautiful story.

Since that first interaction where Leon tells Arthur he took it easy in the joust because he's the heir to the throne - Arthur's face, like he'd been ultimately pwned, oh the wounded pride. And every scene between them since just screams WE HAVE HISTORY.
Yeah, totally head canon. This is why Arthur hasn't put the full moves on Merlin yet. He needs time to make it wonderful.
