Students, I will remind you once and once only that your primary purpose for being here is to study and perform academically to the best of your ability. If you have no intention of doing so, I would recommend just giving up now and putting your resumes out for positions at McDonalds or Burger World.
Whether Prom is coming closer or not is irrelevant. Anyone else who is caught fooling around during school hours can and will have their prom privileges revoked, along with receiving regular punishment. I cannot make things any clearer than that.
As such, prom tickets are still being sold in the office through the end of the week. This event is an expensive undertaking, and people sneaking in will be taken very seriously. If you do not have a ticket, you will not be going into the dance.
All of these procedures were listed in your student handbooks at the beginning of the year. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to remind yourself of them.
Staff Filter
As the school board has refused my request once again to have this whole event canceled yet has not provided the extra funds necessary to keep us on budget for the remainder of the year, I have had to come to a few decisions.
To cut costs and avoid having parental involvement at all costs, as well as to adapt to the behavior of our students during this past week, I have decided that every teacher will be expected to chaperon at Prom. Considering how much you all have been encouraging this event, you should have no problems managing it.
If you wish to ask for an exception, and there will only be one in the greatest of circumstances, I want the request in writing and on my desk by Wednesday morning so I may have the pleasure of ripping it up in front of you[Deleted] so I have time to make my decision. Staff will be expected to dress formally as their position and age dictates, and will be responsible for manning some of the activities provided as well as for maintaining a safe and orderly atmosphere.
