Hi!
I'm a week late with this challenge, and I have no excuse for not posting it other than being horribly lazy (although I was busy last weekend, so I'm not surprised I forgot.) And then I didn't think posting it in the middle of the week would have worked, so I left it until now.

kasabian fic: tom
it had been a school night when toms father finally left, without his bags or a single goodbye the man had waited till they were all busy enough not to notice. toms mum stood in the bathroom shouting at them all to tidy up their rooms whilst she filled up the bath with steaming water. tom remembers watching his dad light another cigarette just as he left the room, his eyes trailing up the grey smoke that seemed to leave a halo around the old mans head.
his siblings fought like they always did but this time their father remained quiet and still, watching them all as if it were the last time. was the last time tom corrects himself. like he didnt want to stop looking at them like he would forget what they looked like. toms eyebrows knitted together as he stared at his father standing in the kitchen "your mother told you to tidy up tom" his voice is empty and it makes the brunettes stomach roll. tom doesnt stop the sigh from tumbling from his pouted lip.
walking back upstairs tom bites his lip harder with each step that passes. he wants to turn around and pull at his fathers sleeve. beg him not to go and tell him all his deepest darkest secrets just so that he wont go but his mother is calling and his siblings have calmed down now. the house is quiet and still and tom realises he hates that saying about the calm before the storm.
his mother goes to fetch some towels and his siblings start squawking at each other again until he yells at them to stop. the fighting goes on and its just another usual night at the meighen home. pulling the shirt over his head tom pretends he watched his father walk down that road with nothing but the guilt pressing hard on his shoulders. in reality tom didnt know the man was going to leave until his mother started breaking things and the fighting stopped.
