Meet Lyric Bryer and Michael Dunn

Apr 02, 2011 21:09

Author Note:Lyric Bryer (Lyric as in song lyrics and Bryer as br-eye-er only all together.) and Michael Dunn are my original characters. They stalk me everywhere. Lyric constantly complains about how I've never written anything about him and Michael won't stop glaring at me. So here they are. May be now they'll piss off for a bit...

Lyric sank to the ground and sat heavily against the table leg with a breathy sigh. Michael looked over the table top, staring at the tips of fluffy strawberry blond hair, a frown twisting his features.

"Studying? Do you not understand the meaning if the word or do you just choose to ignore it?"

Lyric thought for a moment before frowning, twisting to look up only seeing the table top.

"I don't ignore the meaning. I just choose to have nothing to do with it."

Michael pinched the bridge of his nose at the bright and happy voice of his friend. With a sigh he opened the heavy book on American history, barely containing a wince as the first half of the book hit the table with a heavy thud.

Lyric hummed happily to an imaginary tune, tapping a floral patterned sneaker against the hard wood floor of the study hall. After a fee moments Michael began tapping his calloused fingers against the desk, following the tune. Soon they were both humming along, drawing the attention of other guys in the room.

"Study Hall is suppose to be silent, Mr Bryer, Mr Dunn." Michael froze and sat up straight at the voice. Lyric just smiles happily from his place on the floor, no longer humming but still bobbing his head. Ms Tyler gave a half smile before clearing her throat.

"Wait until your Music classes for such a thing, alright boys?" Ms Tyler said in a stern and slightly uptight voice that all librarians seem to develop at some point. Michael nodded repeatedly. Ms Tyler raised an eyebrow,

"Be careful, Dunn. You might throw your own head off."

Lyric giggled and waved at Ms Tyler's retreating form. Ms Tyler was definitely his favourite teacher. She was funny while still be stern and cold while still being welcoming. He always liked puzzles and she was definitely puzzling. Michael glared down at him.

"This isn't a laughing matter! You almost got me in trouble. What if I had been expelled? Then I wouldn't go to university, get my degree and find a way to figure out whatever the hell is wrong with you." Michael was nothing if not dramatic.

Lyric stood abruptly. Then turned at faced Michael head on.

"Cal, there is nothing wrong with me, yet." He smiled brightly, tilting his head to the side. He looked at the heavy book, ignoring Michael's chilling glare, and titled his head to the side. Michael arched a delicate eyebrow at the strange look upon Lyric's face. He waved a hand in front of Lyric's face and blew a stray chocolate brown lock of hair out of his eyes, watching as Lyric's eyes regained focus and turned to face him.

Lyric's smiled seemed forever imprinted on his pale face. Michael couldn't help but stare deeply into wide green grey eyes with lashes much too long for a normal boy. Lyric reached up and scratched the side of his nose, eyes flicking down to watch his own finger do so.

Michael smiled at him before realizing what he was doing and coughing awkwardly, frown returning to his face. Lyric's attention returned to Michael.

"Cal, can we go have dinner now? I'm terribly hungry." Lyric murmured, watching as he rubbed his tummy.

Michael sighed, looking towards the rather large stack of homework he had yet to complete. He flicked his attention back to Lyric, who was now absently looking about the room. He realized how awkward Lyric looked standing there as he has for the past 10 minutes. Lyric was, of course blissfully unaware of this fact.

"Come on. I'll get you some fruitloops, but only if you promise to eat some of my salad, okay?"

Lyric bounced on the balls of his feet, Nodding happily. Michael quickly stood and left the room with an amount of grace and style that Lyric had never mastered.

Lyric skipped out after him, narrowly avoiding tripping on the table leg and running into the door frame.

Authors Note (end): Okay...so. Yeah. I didn't plan that, at all. Kind of just hope a story of some sort would appear. It did, sort of. Plus, you all got to meet Ms Tyler along with Lyric and Michael. They're probably really confusing. But yeah. Have fun.Oh god. They won't leave me alone, will they? Fuu-
