Good Karma Kicks into Overdrive
The interview this morning went well. I think things sort of depend on if this recruiter will get the opportunity to present me to the client company. Really has nothing to do with me personally, just the way smaller recruiters have to work. Fortunately, I have a good resume with loads of in-demand experience. I also tend to interview well most of the time. We'll see.
This morning I got both a call and an email from Kforce, another large recruiting firm. I consider them a top shelf outfit, too. I was a bit turned off by the fact that the guy was calling from Florida, but he set me up with an interview with their Denver office tomorrow at 10:30 am.
I turned my phone on silent while I was in the interview today, but when I came out I had *another* phone call from a recruiter. However she's with The Job Store. Ages ago when I was right out of college, I responded to an ad they placed and it was an outfit where you had to pay *them* to place you in a job. No thanks. I doubt they work like that anymore, but they're definitely not top shelf IMHO. I believe that they deal in lower-level clerical jobs, so I don't think I'm going to call her back at all.
I also just called back yet a different recruiter who submitted me for a job last week. He hasn't heard anything yet, but is following up with the client company. They turned down some other candidates, but have not turned me down yet, so there's still hope there.
All in all, things are really hopping job-wise right now, so I send out a big, huge THANK YOU to everyone who has been keeping up the good karma thoughts. Hopefully something will break for me soon and it will be awesome.
