Moving Day or I have Too Much Stuff!
officially sorta begins today. I'm about to drive 7 hours, sign 18bazillion papers, throw out the previous owners toothpicks and icecream, drop bridge off at her grandmaws house, drive back 7 hours, load the truck and kiss memphis goodbye. Not all in one day, but it starts today.
I don't think I'm ever going to move again, this has been hectic.
The highlights:
new house! (squee!)
finding nifty things I forgot I had in the attic
smart brother in law who knows bank president
getting to finally spend time with one of my very best friends tuesday
boss paying me for extra days because she loves me
leaving the #2 rated crime city in the US
pirate themed going away party at work
being in the same town as my family again...i've missed them
The lowlights:
Asshole house sellers (story about that to come)
leaving a town that has people I love in it (but llike disney says...it's a small world after all, so I'm not reeeeaaaallly Leaving)
fiance's mother crying ALL the time because we're leaving, makes seeing her awkward
training my replacement at work (while he has b.o) knowing that he's not up to the job and probably won't ever be.
Finding a family of mice in the shed living in and eating my harry potter book collection.
having to use my "serious voice" one too many times to get my house closed on my terms (I don't like me when I'm angry)
By the way....psssst Lemur! I'm sorry I never did arrange to meet with you to trade stuff but I've left a couple of boxen of photo happies with accipiter to give you. I've also sent a bag of light bulbs for the lights just in case you decide you want to use molten lava lights during your photo party. I'll get the lighting stuff later....there's always later. :)
