*Scene: we are lined up to go to lunch. I am standing at the front of the line, asking someone in the back of the line to take his hands out of his pants. The line leader this week is a student who does things very much on impulse, not realizing at first that maybe he shouldn't have done them.*
2nd kid in line: "MISS KILBY!!"
Me: *looks from the back of the line to the front*
Line leader: *gasps and suddenly thrusts his hand violently over a spot on Mrs. Bennett's (my TA) desk*
Me: "What happened?"
2nd kid in line: "Christian colored on Mrs. Bennett's desk"
Line leader: *moves his hand revealing a single line in red crayon, looks at me then slowly collapses to the floor at my feet pleading for mercy* "I don't want to be on yellow!" *starts crying*
It just amused me, it was like those movies where someone is begging the king to spare his life. Ahh, yes.... I have successfully instilled the fear of the teacher into my students. ^_~
