I hope that you enjoy the 8 year old VCR (with the latest That 70's Show episode recored on the tape--I was really looking forward to seeing it!), the DVD player (which was not only a GIFT to me from Thomas, but also had one of his DVDs from a BOXED TV SERIES set, cuz that'll be easy to replace!!!), the handfull of DVDs (especially the 2 that were on BORROW), the remote for the TV (instead of the VCR remote--cuz, yeah, you'll get really far with THAT remote), and the PILLOWCASE you stuffed them into. FUCKING ASSHOLE!!!!!!
I guess I SHOULD thank you for not BREAKING (well, aside from the outer part of my kitchen door window) anything as you violated my space. It makes me warm and fuzzy to think that you were paying attention to my apartment to notice I hadn't been home lately (I've been housesitting for the past 3 weeks). Really, I'm flattered.
Oh, yes, and THANK you to my apartment manager who didn't put up a petty thief detrant screen on MY kitchen door window like he did to the two ground floor apartments--like a thief wouldn't want to make it to the 3rd floor apartment for a little fun. Guess it wasn't enough that the poor guy on the bottom floor had the EXACT same thing happen to him--The apartment manager just HAD to wait until it happened to ME to figure out it was probably a good idea that everyone else's windows should be secured, too! Brilliant. Oh, but I do appreciate him putting something over my window to prevent another break in--For FUTURE reference, however, I prefer PREVENTATIVE measures, rather than AFTER THE FACT fixes--ESPECIALLY when it's been a prior issue with other apartments.
And I'm REALLY excited about getting to wait for HOURS for a nice police officer to stop by and make a report (like that's gonna help anything).
All of that aside, I am very glad that the items taken are just THINGS that can be replaced and that there was no harm done to my person.
Any renters reading this should get renter's insurance if you don't have it. I'll be calling for some rates very soon, myself.
Made my report to the police, yesterday (nevermind that I made the call to them on Sunday afternoon--had to keep rescheduling because I wasn't about to hang out at my apartment until 11pm at night to speak to them). He made suggestions to make things a little more secure and he actually took some fingerprints from the glass on my entertainment center. I doubt it will tattle on anyone (aside from me and Thomas), but it's nice they are making an effort. If you haven't written down serial numbers to your electronics, it might be a good idea.
Aside from all of this, life is pretty good. I've got a wedding to photograph in less than 2 weeks, which I'm trying to not stress about (it'll be fine). It's extra $$, which is nice. :) Thomas graduates from Sac State in just 2 and a half weeks!!! :) I got a raise at work and have a week's vacation just waiting to be taken. :)
