The last few weeks have been really fun. I've been making some good headway on the website for work. The sun was out the last four days. And I've even had a few photography gigs.
A week and a half ago I shot the Spring Celebration Fundraiser for Legal Voice, formally known as the Northwest Women's Law Center - they unveiled their new name at the Fundraiser. I had a blast - despite the low light at the paramount the shots all came out really well, which was nice because my post event work was very minimal. It feels like I am really starting to get the hang of bouncing my flash off of ceilings and walls.
On Saturday I got to be one of the photographers for the Cascadia Cup Exbeerience festival - combining beer AND photography... it doesn't get much better. This was out at Redhook and had fantastic lighting, so again, post event work was minimal as far as touch ups go.
Tavish and I entered a fair amount of beers and were lucky enough to take a few awards. We took third in the Belgian category with our Belgian Pale Ale and a second place in the German Wheat Beer category with our Rogeinbeer. The Rogeinbeer award is pretty cool because we took second to a gentlemen named Jim Briske, who has been brewing for I don't know how long and has taken best of show at the last two Cascadia Cups with his German Hefe. Though this year he only to second best overall. Not a bad person to come in second to if you ask me. Maybe next year we will dethrone him.
So, onward and forward to the next batch of beer and the next photography gig.
