It's another post from Shush, so you know something must have gone wrong. It's this snow that we're getting.
After work, with three inches of the white stuff or so on the road already, there was no way I was going to get my car up the steep hill to my home. Of course I tried anyway. This stubborn course of action only netted me a car stuck in a snow bank on the side of the road.
Undeterred by such events, my moods and attitudes aren't overtly changed by such happenings , just people, I trekked the quarter mile left to home on foot uphill. That's right. Uphill, through the snow, both ways, just like back in the old days when your grandparents went to school. I grabbed my snow shovel and a board to put under the tires for traction and went back to my car to dig it out. I only fell twice along the way.
Gratefully, my brother came and helped me out, too, as I had neither gloves, proper boots, or quiet enough layers for this work. I fear he might be a better brother to me than I am to him. Only fair, I suppose, he's older. Together we made short work of the snow bank and I wiggled my car out only to park it/get it stuck in more snow in the parking lot of the Lutheran Church at the base of the hill.
I pray that as Christian folks, they'll be charitable, understanding of my situation, and forgive me for my poor parking job.
Having made it back home alive, my brother and I, after a brief interim skirmish where we fought the North American Abominable Snowman together, I sat down to write this and get off my legs, as my previously injured knee was starting to protest it's recent abuse. I was going to enjoy having the next two days off, but I dread that I will have to go excavate my car from the Church's parking lot, least their charity runs out and has my car towed.
