My Scattered Deep Thoughts on the first two episodes of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger! Spoilers below.
-Overall, I am IMMENSELY enjoying this show. It's like one continuous fangasm/one huge love letter to the fans. I think I might actually go through with watching the whole thing- Go-Onger was the last series I watched in its entirety. I couldn't stand Shinkenger and got bored with Goseiger about 13 or so episodes in.
-Since they've established this early that ANYONE can use their powers as long as they have the morpher and a Ranger Key, I foresee at least one more instance where someone- either another random civilian or an enemy- steals/is allowed to use their powers. I wanna see some Good Ranger-vs.-Evil Ranger action, damnit.
-I like how the Rangers work together so seamlessly as a team. They freely swap their standard sidearms and transform as one into an entirely new set of Rangers and have no trouble transitioning into a coordinated attack. I can't foresee this lasting forever, of course, but it's nice to see for now.
-Gee, I WONDER who that mysterious red-clad stranger that saved Captain Marvelous and gave him the chest full of Ranger Keys could be?! I mean, he's got the high-collared costume of AkaRed and has a 35 on his chest...
-I am endlessly amused whenever there are genderbent costumes. My favorites were male MagiBlue and Hurricane Blue, female Hurricane Yellow, and female Kuwaga Raiger. Oh, and of course female MagiRed and GekiRed. :D
-And of course, KAAAAAAIIIII! If this is just the first of many appearances by past Rangers, I will be a very happy fan- especially if anybody from Dekaranger or Go-Onger shows up.
