I just had another random Russian person friend me. WTF?

This is the third time it's happened, and just like the two previous times, no interests or communities in common, we don't even share a language, but this time they've friended a couple of my other friends as well.
I know it's harmless, but it's annoying. I don't understand why someone would want to friend me when we don't speak the same language or share any interests.
