A/N: I don't even know with this fic... xD

Japan closed his eyes and relaxed against the edge of the hot springs, letting the heat soak deep into his body and relaxing him. It was quiet here under the stars and it was truly very peaceful. He let his thoughts drift a little, soaking in the evening and wanting to hold onto it. Even the younger man sitting beside him was overcome with stillness, and in this situation it didn't surprise him. He peeked at his partner in the bath. America had his arms stretched out of the water and was leaning back, looking up at the clear night sky. This place was very remote and a great place to look at the stars. Japan had been surprised when he learned that nature could stop such an active and rambunctious nation in its tracks. America had been born from wilderness, and it seemed to be the only place that could make him pause and consider.

Japan watched as America's brow furrowed as he contemplated something. Japan waited for him to share whatever revelation it was, but America did not seem ready to share. In nature he became more contemplative and slower to take drastic action. However, the opposite could be true. Once they tried to hold a meeting outside and America had gotten woefully distracted by all of the new plants and animals to discover. It was America's curiosity that had first drawn Japan to him, just as it did now.

He had been surprised by how much America liked walks, and how he would bend over and examine many of the plants that they passed. There was an especially curious moment when he had needed to scold America for walking on the garden, and the very young nation had apologized and explained that they were allowed to be in the garden where he was from. Decades later, when America took Japan's hand and led him off trail, Japan had been transported back into a time where nature was all around him. He had even felt a small twinge of jealousy and set to work on setting aside his own places where his people could recreate. Although, no matter what he did, America's were still so much more remote. Being so used to the city now, it sometimes made him nervous. However, he could still recall the exhilarating feeling. He had seen brand new expressions and mannerisms on America, the first time he had seen him in his own wilds.

"America." he said. His boyfriend looked over to him. Japan took a moment to admire the moon on his skin. "I was thinking I would like to go visit your parks next time I come visit you. Even if I would have to sleep on the ground."

The response was instantaneous. A smile spread across America's face and he looked absolutely delighted by the request. "Really?! I mean, we don't have to sleep on the ground. I could rent a totally epic RV, it'll be great!"

"An RV?"

"You've seen them Japan, a motorhome or a trailer or something! The apartments on wheels. They are totally sweet. You can come with me to a show and we can pick one out! It'll be absolutely awesome! We could use it for base camp or something and then go out hiking from there!" The conversation continued as America began to excitedly list off all of the different places that they could go when they headed out into all of his wild and historic places that he could show to Japan. Japan couldn't help but smile when America would talk about historic places since he was so young, but he could tell that America felt a lot of pride in them. America was piecing together a side of himself that Japan only got to see in brief bursts, it was hardly something that came out when they were all together at the meetings. Suddenly, he remembered something.

"We won't be able to do all that at once will we?" he asked. America's enthusiasm deflated a little bit.

"Yeah, I guess not... to show you everything would take a long time. But... do you think you could get away for two weeks?" he said, looking over at him hopefully. Japan considered.

"Most likely."

"Then we can go to the oldest ones. You've never really gotten to see the Redwoods right? And I can show you some of my hot springs. I mean, you can't sit in a lot of them, but there are a few."

"That sounds nice. We would take the RV?"

"Yeah, then it would be more comfortable for you when you have a back ache." The smile America gave him was slightly teasing, as though he couldn't believe that Japan would actually get back aches. He still seemed considerate about it though, since he knew Japan could be more than tough. The wound that had caused that scar on his shoulder had been no joke.

"We will have to choose a date."

"You should just come next week."

"America..."

"Fine... I know we have to get some work done. How about July, you can come for my birthday and then just stay a little bit longer." he smiled and joked, "Don't forget to bring your hiking boots and make sure you bring me a good present."

Japan gave him a blank look that caused America to laugh. As if he would forget to bring America a gift for his birthday, and he could certainly think of a few more pleasurable add-ons as well. Besides, the RV sounded like it would be comfortable... and private. Privacy was going to be rather important for one of the 'gifts' he had begun planning this month. He smiled and considered the pleasure of seeing America out in his element amongst the wilds that he had guarded.

"I think it'll be a good time, right?"

Japan nodded before leaning back into the crook of America's arm where he could rest his head against his shoulder. It was going to be a good time indeed, and he let himself drift off into the vision of the near future.
