Yeah, England should have taken the hint that since Confederacy had a thing for him, America had to have a thing for him since they were the exact same person up until that point.
Wow, seeing America this way tears me up. And England's not better, what's with his stubbornness and his denial about his feelings for America. Just, damn! Idiotic boys! >>
The historical context of this was wonderfully handled as well; I've always craved for Civil War US/UK stories. Great job! <3
I really enjoyed writing this one, I wasn't sure exactly what angle I wanted to take with it at first so I started doing research. The Union never recognized the south as a separate nation, so that got me the idea that Confederacy was still stuck inside America, he was someone else, he just had no body of his own yet. The whole head canon is still forming, but I really like the way this story turned out.
I've never actually seen any US/UK stories for the Civil War, but I suppose it all depends on where people's head canons are of when they got together.
Thank you! I thought it would be interesting to spin it that way, and I really liked it. The Confederacy wanted European help so much, so I had a feeling that it would have been something he, as a character, would try to use England's feelings for America to get support.
The Civil War is my favorite part of US history and the Trent Affair has always seemed to be such a US/UK/CSA love triangle-ish thing to me. Haha. I actually have a Confederacy OC of my own and that's about the time when he really started getting feelings for England.
I really love how you wrote this, with the Confederacy being like a split personality, and his interaction with England, and then America's interactions and rjekajrlea. Yeah. I really enjoyed reading this.
Then I realized who it was who wrote it and it all made even more sense why I loved it so much.~
Thank you for reading! And thank you for the compliment! I think this may be one of my favorite stories that I wrote in 2011.
I really like the split personality direction for a lot of reasons, the biggest one that it reflects the split ideologies and the fact that the Union never recognized the South as anything other than states in rebellion.
