Forward
So far away, I wish you were here
Before it’s too late this could all disappear
It was strange being on her own, she had lost her companions, and was wandering in silence. She hoped she would not run into any Chaos warriors, her defection from them would probably not be taken kindly. At one point she tired and stopped to rest in a grassy field, looking up at the oddly colored sky. She wondered about her own world, what it was like there.
“What’re you looking at?” a male voice asked. Terra almost jumped out of her skin at the sound, jumping up and looking behind her. Vaan smiled at her, “Didn’t mean to scare you!”
“You... you just surprised me...” she said, looking away, trying to hide the flush that was now spreading across her cheeks. He sat down on the ground, grabbing her hand and tugging her back down as well.
“Sorry!” he laughed, “But anyway, what were you looking at?”
“I was wondering if the sky in my home was the same.” she said. Vaan flopped back staring at the sky, and she lay down next to him, their shoulders touching. The long grass made them disappear, the only thing in view was the sky.
“Yeah, it would be nice to know about things from home. If we had airships we’d be able to move forward in our mission a lot faster.”
“I suppose, do you have memories of your home?”
“Some.”
They continued to speak, of trivial things, the few things they could remember. It was a break in constant war, a chance to rest. All too soon they would be wishing for these quiet times again.

Whimper
Before the doors close and it comes to an end
With you by my side I will fight and defend
Terra lay there feeling extremely tired, she wished she could just drift off to sleep. She shifted trying to stay awake and cried out in pain. That last mannequin had been uncharacteristically powerful and she had suffered for her contact with it.
“Terra, stay awake! I’ll get a potion!” Vaan’s voice filtered into her fuzzy brain making her more alert. Her eyes fluttered open and she could see his worried face hovering above her as he searched for the potion he kept with his gear. If it hadn’t been for him she probably would have been destroyed, filtered back into this world like so many of the warriors that came before them.
He found the potion and poured it over her, healing her wounds. When she was healed he gathered her up in his arms. She held him back, glad that she had survived to feel this momentary joy.

Myth
Hear me when I say I believe
Nothing’s gonna change destiny
“You know, I wonder what’ll happen to us all when we get out of this.” Vaan said, his words whispered to the top of Terra’s head where she rested it on his shoulder. It was a quiet moment, they had managed to evade the mannequins and they had not seen a Warrior of Chaos in what felt like ages. She looked at him, his eyes looked away from her, focused on the distance as though he were envisioning the future.
“Yes, I wonder if we’ll remember all of this or not.” she said sadly. She didn’t want to forget Vaan, how he had saved her from her own darkness. Terra wanted to be able to return the favor, she would fight to keep him safe. She didn’t want this light to disappear.
“I hope so, I would hate to forget you. It had to have been destiny that day, you know, like in the stories.” he said, grinning at her.
She smiled back, “Perhaps it will be like the myths and we can always know about each other even though we are not from the same place.”
“Let’s hope that nothing will change our destiny.”

Whisper
Whatever’s meant to be will work out perfectly
She listened to the whispering wind as she woke up alone in the vast wasteland of the world. She couldn’t remember why she was there, there was just a teasing feeling at the back of her brain that was driving her towards the Sanctuary where she would once again meet Cosmos. Terra would be meeting new faces, it was her first turn in the cycle of becoming a Warrior of Cosmos.
She would not remember her cycles as a Warrior of Chaos and how that experience had been scarring and tortuous. Terra does not remember her mistreatments or her fear of fighting. Kain’s plan had been successful, the world had shifted and the cycle was about to begin for the last time.
On the wind she could hear laughter and warm words, words that inspired her to keep fighting so that she could one day find peace.

Lord
So keep holding on...
As Terra slept through the end of the war and the beginning of the next she dreamed. She dreamed of a boy with a bright smile and friendly face. He had rescued her, saved her from her torment, and yet she could not remember his name. She remembered no one, it was a brand new beginning in a shattered, broken world.
The dream was simple, a happy life away from war. A simple kingdom, she wondered if hat was his world as airships drifted in the sky. They could be together and live happily. She prayed that the dream could be real. It was a beautiful fiction.
When she awoke the dream slipped away. A word, a name was all she had left on her mind, “Vaan.” She knew not if he was still in this world or not, but she would do her best to end the war to see if she could find the young man whose face was already disappearing from her mind.
