Hello everyone! It seems you have stumbled across my livejournal, probably because I linked it on a community or left the link lying around somewhere. Welcome, I hope you find something worthwhile. If not, please leave me some feedback so that I can improve. I would like to contribute to the fan communities but have always been too shy.
So anyway...
Who am I?
I go by the online name of Shuriken. I am a young woman in my 20s that earned a degree in environmental education and aspires to teach in the Rocky Mountains. Hopefully in the next few years I will head to graduate school to continue my education. I have already made great strives towards these efforts, and I will continue to work hard to achieve my goal to stay in the mountains that I so dearly love.
I am a Coloradan, meaning I hail from the lovely 38th State of the Union, Colorado, in the United States of America. I am intensely interested in the history of my state and surrounding states so that I may be a better outdoor educator because I truly believe that people are part of the bigger picture and deserve their place in everyone's understanding.
On the other end of the spectrum of being a nature lover, I also really enjoy anime, video games, and movies. I do speak some Japanese (enough to get me in trouble I learned in Japan) and can read kana (still working on the kanji). My current fandom obsession is Axis Powers Hetalia because I am such an education nerd, and playing with the personifications of nation-states amuses me. My list of anime that I have seen would take up too much space here, so if you're curious just ask! :)

What will I be posting here?
Currently I have been posting my responses to fanfiction writing challenges. Simply put, these challenges give me something to do. I write for fun and I've been trying to be more confident about getting stuff out there (even if it is bad).
I have a few characters that I've been writing extensively for and that is the characters for Hetalia and some American state original characters that I have been working on. If you would like, please give me feedback, I know I have some bad writing habits and advice would be helpful (I respectively ask you to be professional about it, though).
My versions of the states are mine, if you would like to use them please ask, and I would really love to read or see your work! I'm trying to fill a bit of a deficit in characters involving the western states that are accurate. Easterners seem to have a hard time with it, just like I would have a hard time writing the South or the Northeast. So, I live in my little mountain state region and enjoy writing characters from there.
Hetalia is hardly my only fandom though and there will be other works as well.
Occasionally, I may post some original work. Most of this will probably involve nature, ravens, or the Rocky Mountains in some way, because like I said in the part above, I love the Rockies.

Update 1/2013: I now have an Archive of Our Own account where I will be indexing my favorite stories. Feel free to follow me over there too! I will still post my stories here, only my favorites or ones I consider pretty good will end up over there! If you have any favorites you would want me to put up over there, let me know!
