"You work too much," came a critical voice from the doorway.
"And a good morning to you, too, Hunter," Cam said sourly, typing in the command to tweak the alignment of the rotator coupling on the Dolphin Zord by another 10 degrees. "I don't recall you complaining the last time I upgraded your zord."
"Well, yeah, but that was before we started dating." Hunter's slow, even tread moved to just behind him. Cam still didn't look back.
"You want me to stop doing all this and focus on you?"
"Yeah, basically," Hunter said. Cam could FEEL the smirk even though he couldn't see it.
"Why should I do that?" Cam asked, feeling especially grumpy. He'd been up all night. Not that Hunter knew. Or cared, probably, since Hunter would've had a good night's sleep just like all the others.
"Because you look like crap, I know you need to finish that, and I brought you a triple strength latte."
Cam stopped.
He turned.
And yes, there was the smirk, but there was also gentleness and appreciation in Hunter's eyes, and most importantly he was holding three giant disposable coffee cups. "Three?"
"One for me, two for you," Hunter said.
Cam grinned, and ran his hand through his hair selfconsciously, only too aware that he genuinely DID look like crap. "I'm sure I can give you ten minutes."
"Good. Then you have to finish that within the next hour or I'm under orders from your dad to drag you out of here physically and force you to bed," Hunter said calmly, but then he grinned a grin so lascivious that Cam nearly started laughing.
Cam grabbed a cup and took a long, grateful swig, then he craned up, snaked a hand behind Hunter's neck, and dragged Hunter's face down to his for a long, grateful kiss. "Thank you. I guess I can do that. Relationships ARE all about compromise, after all."
Not-requester!Anon, but just had to say how much I adored this! Hunter being sweet, Cam getting self-conscious and most importantly coffee! lol. Wonderful :D
