(Hope this is OK. :) Please let me know if I've screwed major canon elements as the Megaship & I'll fix it as that is fairly unfamiliar for me!!)
"And this is your bed," Kendrix said cheerfully. "This is the end of the tour. I hope you've enjoyed your time with Kendrix Tours."
Maya stared at her for a moment, then giggled. "Thank you, Kendrix. You're very kind. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Kendrix curtseyed, still playing along with the joke. "You're most welcome, ma'am. Now, if ma'am doesn't mind, I have to get ready for bed." She grinned at Maya, then turned to her bed and took her pyjamas out from under the pillow, which was pink, of course. "Do you have something to sleep in, or do you want to borrow something?"
Maya sat down on her own bed and looked around. "Uh, I didn't bring anything," she said calmly enough, but Kendrix could see the panic at the backs of her eyes. It had to be hard. Maya was such a positive, lovely person, but to go through what she'd been through must've had some impact. "What do you think I should do, please?"
"Well, I've got spares, of course. We'll just have to go shopping and buy you some more clothes. It's okay if you didn't bring anything here." Kendrix felt around under her bed for the suitcase she kept with spare clothes, then she felt arms wrap around her from behind.
"Kendrix," Maya murmured warmly into her ear, "you don't know how wonderful you are."
Kendrix felt herself blush hotly with embarrassment, or possibly it was because Maya was hugging her. Maybe a little of both? She certainly didn't MIND Maya hugging her as she was awfully sweet and nice and very pretty, but it did make her thoughts go in unusual directions...
"Something, something, something on me!" Kendrix said, trying not to panic, but she could FEEL something crawling on her SKIN and she couldn't get it off get it off get it off get it OFF! She twisted, trying to see her own ear, but couldn't quite manage it. She didn't want to just slap blindly at whatever it was as then it would SQUISH on her and YUCK.
Then she felt a gentle hand on her shoulder. She froze. "Let me help, Kendrix."
Maya pushed her hair aside, holding it up out of the way, then reached in under Kendrix's ear. She took her hand away again, making Kendrix illogically sad, then put it in front of Kendrix's eyes. "Just a water beetle. Must've found its way here from one of the pot plants," Maya said. "I'll take care of it."
Kendrix shuddered, but she grinned sheepishly. It was so small. "Thank you. I think you'll help me just as much as I'll help you, Maya."
This earned her an enormous smile from the other girl. "I hope so. Back soon." Maya went out with the beetle, leaving Kendrix feeling a tiny bit more confident about her new roommate's emotional state.

And then she felt something crawling on her neck.
Kendrix yelped. Maya jolted back. "Kendrix, what's wrong?"
"Something, something, something on me!" Kendrix said, trying not to panic, but she could FEEL something crawling on her SKIN and she couldn't get it off get it off get it off get it OFF!
