Kai sighed as he put the suitcase on the floor next to the bed. Finally. It was only their first night here, but it was finally complete and they were finally moving in together and it was all finally okay! He sat on the bed and grinned.
Leo walked in with a suitcase under each arm, and a big cardboard box across his shoulder. "Show-off," Kai muttered.
"What?" Leo asked absently. His eyes were wide as he looked around the room, then he dumped the suitcases on the floor and the box on top. The box promptly toppled over and began spilling shirts and stuffed toys everywhere (for some reason Maya thought they needed friends here). Kai got to his feet and began to protest, but before he could say anything, Leo started laughing.
Kai stalked up to him, looked down pointedly at the mess on the floor, then back up at Leo's face. Leo didn't pay any attention. He just kept laughing. "Leo?" Kai said tentatively. Maybe he'd snapped. Maybe this was finally it. Maybe Leo was about to rip EVERY shirt he could find in the house and then go running out onto the street to rip the shirt of every person who passed by. Kai was sure Kendrix had some kind of pool on when that would happen.
"It's blue," Leo said at last, and Kai began to understand.
Kai turned, unable to face him just at that point. "Um, yes."
"I thought we were going with half red, half blue?"
"Some of the other rooms are red," Kai said, still not looking at Leo. "Having this one half red would've just spoiled the entire aesthetic, Leo." It was perfectly reasonable. Of course it was. So why was Leo still laughing?
"Sure, and your face makes for some bright red in here anyway," Leo prompted.
"Yes, my face makes- heyyyy," Kai turned back, wounded. Leo had an enormous grin on his face. "...you don't mind?"
"I don't mind," Leo said. "But you owe me." He had That Look in his eyes. He reached back with one foot and casually kicked the door shut without looking, then advanced on Kai in a predatory kind of way. Kai stood with his arms folded, trying for sternness, but failing completely. He couldn't stop the grin that was crinkling the corners of his mouth. "You owe me BIG time," Leo said, then he broke character and waved at the mess on the floor. "And yes, I'll clean that up after."
"Oh, okay, then c'mere and grope me," Kai said cheerfully.

Leo obliged.
