It was a beautiful day, they were sitting near a window in Hayley's Cyberspace, and Bridge was learning. Didn't get much better than that.
"Dude," Bridge said experimentally. It didn't sound quite right, so he said it again. "Dude?"
Conner laughed, and took another slurp of his smoothie. He swallowed, licked his lips, and said, "Nearly there. Just try and add a little more airheadedness to it. Like this." He closed his eyes and smoothed his face, fanning himself with his fingers dramatically, then he opened his eyes again. "DUUUUUDE."
Bridge nodded. "I'll have to work on it."
"Work on what?" Kira said chirpily as she dropped down into the seat next to them. "Whatcha doing?"
"I'm taking Bridge to soccer practice later. He doesn't want anyone to realise he's from the future."
Bridge leaned closer to her and said, "I'm fitting in!" He grinned at her brightly, then sat back in his chair.
Kira smiled at him, then hit Conner in the arm. "You two are sickeningly adorable together, you know that?"
