“Remind me again why we’re doing this,” Mack demanded as Dax finished pushing the furniture together.
“You were upset over the robot thing and I thought this would cheer you up,” Dax answered happily as he jumped onto the sofa carefully bouncing up and down so he didn’t use his power. “I played it all the time when I was a kid.”
Mack sighed, but nodded as he got up onto the couch next to Dax. He had been moping, even he knew it, and he’d admitted to the Blue Ranger that never having an actual childhood was a big part of that angst. Of course, he’d never expected this. “So, how do you play again?”
Dax grinned. “See the floor? It’s lava. You jump from furniture to furniture to dodge the lava. You go as quickly as you can and don’t fall.”
Mack looked at the furniture and back at Dax. He leapt off the couch and onto the large chair that Dax had set up. He had to move quickly as Dax followed. The next thing they knew, they were leaping off the pool table, onto the kitchen table which propelled them back toward the couch when Spencer’s voice rang out as the couch tipped backwards, sending them slidding across the floor. “Master Mack! Master Dax! What do you two think you’re doing?!”
Mack looked at Dax who just looked sheepishly back at Mack. “That’s how it usually ended when I was a kid too.”
Thanks! I had a lot of fun with it. It's just something I'd never have thought of without the prompt and I've found that I like writing Dax and Mack. I also played that game as a kid and considering that Mack likes adventures, I figured it was the perfect game for them.
