Max never felt this comfortable in a while, not since before Zen-Aku appeared and Cole scared him enough that he ran to Danny's sleeping form.
Danny was curled up beside Max, his night cap tilted off his head, mouth hanging open as a snore rose from his throat... And that damned teddy bear of his was poking Max in the eye.
The Surging Shark Ranger grumbled under his breath, shifting a little but the bear was stubbornly clinging to the spot near his eye. Max sat up, throwing back the comforter, and Danny's legs curled up, toes brushing against Max's knees. Max almost smiled at his boyfriend's cuteness.
Almost.
Max poked the bigger man in the side. Nothing happened. Danny only gripped his bear closer to him, right in Max's preferred side. The Blue Ranger leaned over, staring at Danny's face, pondering how just how he was supposed to sleep when an annoying bear was in the way of his giant pillow.
Danny's eyes fluttered against his closed eyelids, and Max wasn't aware how close he got to that serene face until he felt that stupid bear pressed against his chest.
It was getting squished, in fact. Max pushed that thought out of his mind, and let his lips brush against Danny's. The body beneath him shifted, and Danny's eyes opened. Max leaned back, just enough that the man next to him could sit up as well.
"Oh hey, Max." The Iron Bison rubbed his eyes, the bear still tightly held in his arm. "'M sorry, did I wake you?"
Max shook his head, "You didn't wake me up at all." He turned a glare to the stuffed bear, "I can't sleep very well with something in my eye."
The bear remained expressionless.
Danny looked down at his bear, "Wha...? Oh!" He seemed to catch on, "Was he bothering you?" He transfered the bear to his left arm, hooking his right arm around Max. "How's that?"
Max grinned, settling himself against Danny's side as the older man lowered them both back down into the bed, "Much better."
