I got a cold or something right before the lolita meetup in Apple Hill, but now have pretty much recovered! My nose was dripping like a faucet for a few days..

About the Apple Hill meet up, I actually DROVE there! Yup, its about an hour away. Since I was picking up another person, and it looked cloudy, I had to change the windshield wiper. The plastic part of the windshield wiper on the driver's side was coming apart, so it really didn't work. I bought a new one at Price Club, only to realise that it isn't a pair, but ONE! Ah well, at least I got to change the side that really needed it!
Luckily I changed it, because it started to rain!

At Apple Hill, we just wandered around the High Hill orchard area with the artisan/crafts area and restaurants. It was quite cold wearing skirts. Lots of people asked us why we are dressed up.. It was kind of funny because no one else bought apples. I basically did my "grocery shopping" and lugged around my 5 lbs of various varieties of apples (Arkansas black, gravestein, roma, gala..). Afterwards, we went walking around downtown Placerville/Hangtown. There are so many antique shops there! One was so unique because it is a gothic themed antique shop. Lots of old medical supplies, books, gothic jewelry. Although the price tag for most items are way out of my budget, it is definately worth a visit to look around at the decor!

er, yeah, I posted some photos up on my flickr account since livejournal is still a mystery to me! haha..

On Thanksgiving, I actually cooked something! I attempted to make mushroom gravy and green bean casserole. The gravy.. well, I didn't have flour in my house, so I substituted corn starch.. and it isn't too liquidy, but more gelatiny like!! Well, I guess that the taste is OK, but the consistency is weird. The casserole also has some problems. It isn't so creamy, but liquidy!! =_=.. I pretty much followed the Campbell cream of mushroom soup recipe except for adding the deep fried onions.. I don't know what I did wrong!! Oh well, there were at least *edible* anyways!

Black Friday wasn't that great of a day for me. I woke up with a headache that persisted through out the whole day! We set out late (~9AM) to go to Fry's, but the things we wanted were of course long gone. Next, we went to Kohl's because my father wanted to get an air compressor. The line was so LONG!
I promised to help my coworker move to another apartment at around 11AM, so I didn't have time for breakfast or lunch. She lives in the evil land of Natomas and is moving to another apartment in the same area. The moving team consisted of my co-worker, her boyfriend, and I. It maybe due to my cold, or headache, but I was kind of weak that day. I couldn't carry some of the heavier items! =_= Anyways, she rented a small U-Haul truck and that was completely filled up. She also filled part of her boyfriend's pickup truck. What was tiring was that she lived on the 2nd floor on both apartment complexes!! YES, I AM OLD, so stair climbing is very tiring for me, especially when I need to carry large items!!

We finally finished moving all the large items that day and returned the U-Haul at around 4PM. Afterwards, it was LUNCH!! My stomach was growling, but my pounding headache was worse. We went to the Mongolian BBQ place in the Natomas Marketplace, and it was buffet dinner already. I can never make a good tasty combination of the sauce. My fried noodles ended up rather tasteless or something. My headache was really getting to me so that I was dozing off at the table. I was rudely awakened by the waitress speaking loud Chinese to her friend! I then abruptly stood up and said to my co-worker, "I need to go to the bathroom." She was sort of puzzled by the strange expression on my face. I tried to walk normally to the bathroom, and in one of the stalls, I vomited all that Mongolian BBQ I just ate an hour earlier! Some of it got on the toilet seat and splashed out onto the floor.. =_= I feel sorry for the poor person who was in the other bathroom stall!! I had to clean it my mess.. . Afterwards, I managed to drive myself home with my eyes almost closed and slept from 7PM to 12PM the next day!

Anyways, today is the due date for the University of California applications.. one of the applicants is my sister. I just read her 2 required personal statement prompts.. and err... it kind of makes me wonder about what they do in English class nowadays.. @_@|| It reminded me of what my math teacher asked us when he was passing back our exams, "what is black and white and has red all over it?" hahah.. Apparently, so many people are turning in their applications last minute, which keep on crashing the site!! Crazyy!!! I remember when I was her age (that means 12 years ago), it was all paperwork! Well, good luck on all applicants.. and good night!
