Although I am quite an amateur "point and shoot" type of photographer, I do get inspired some days. On Saturday, I had an idea for a photo shoot in my kitchen. It consists of me wearing my blood splattered white apron, and one hand holding a butcher's knife while the other holds an gigantic Opa squash that my co-worker gave to me. Yes, I have a morbid bent in me! It's sort of embarrassing to ask people to take a picture of yourself because.. well, it just feels so narcissistic.. also, my grandmother and father would probably wonder what on earth am I doing! So!! My idea was to do it after EVERYONE IS ASLEEP. around 1AM or so. I mean, its the weekend, so I don't need to get up early!
So I was getting ready at that time.. and despite it being early morning, oh boy, those layers and layers of lolita clothes is crazy hot! I wore the outfit from my BTSSB luckypack and I was getting to be sweating! Petticoats, hair decorations, long sleeve shirt.. man, that took a while to get ready.. :( I finally got myself ready. I put on the apron, got the knife and squash (do you see how embarrassing to have your grandma or pops walking onto this scene?! hahaha).. set up the camera to do self timer.. then I got *ONE* off center shot and the battery DIED. ARGHHhh! All that fuss and sweat for nothing!! >_< Now I gotta do it again before the squash goes bad!!
..geez.. what a idiotic yet funny story!! :D
On Sunday, I went to the Sacramento Chinatown Culture festival in downtown, near Old Sac. I've never went to it before, but I'm glad they are trying to add some festivities down there. That place is so dead. Our family association is down there too, but none of the benevolent associations are participating at all! The Confucius Chinese school barely has any students.. . what is down there is the Wong Center and "Ping Yuen" center, which are places for old people to stay.. There is also a Sun Yat Sen memorial museum that is neglected.. I guess now I have to explain what are "family benevolent associations" in another post, or people will be confused..!
