meet ups
Today is a busy day loaded with lots of events.. I was going to go to attend a gothic lolita meetup at 11AM, but didn't go in the end.. It was going to be a picnic and a visit to the Crocker Art Museum. The weather wasn't that good though.. It was cloudy and had sporadic rain..
Yesterday, I bought some salami, pepper jack cheese, and crackers in preparation for the picnic. I find that my skill in cutting cheese to need an improvement.. cutting thin slices is not easy! However, I found out after coming home that my grandma already scheduled a meetup arrangement between my brother and a girl for today. Yeah, this is maybe the second one? My grandma and father have been crazy about one of us siblings to get a girl/boy friend for a while now.. It seems like they have almost exhausted their resources.. ahaha.. I shouldn't be laughing because I had to go to a meet up with a guy once. Yeah, that was awkward..
Anyways, the girl and her family was going to meet my brother and my family.. So, I was the only one available to pick up my sister from Chinese school in Lemon Hill.. By the time I came back home it was already 12:20.. My co-worker was also having a birthday party at the bowling alley in Elk Grove at 2:00PM! I was thinking of going to the egl meetup for a short time.. but I figured that it might take me a total of 20 minutes round trip to the art museum.. and maybe 20 minutes driving to go to Elk Grove.. Since they were only renting 2 lanes for 2 hours, I really shouldn't get there late.
When I arrived at the bowling alley, this was the conversation between me and the birthday girl:
Birthday girl: We saw your people today.
me: ?? huh?
Birthday girl: We passed by and saw a group of gothic lolitas. I was thinking of stopping by, but we didn't.
me: uh, what were you doing there?
Birthday girl: Oh, we went to Crepeville for breakfast..
me: hmm.. (Crepeville is 18th + L.. Crocker Art Museum is 3rd + P .. Did they purposely went to look since I told her about it the day before..?!)
So if you saw a silver RAV4 with 2 people today staring at the egl meetup, don't worry, they are mostly harmless!! Yup, its good to spread the knowledge of gothic lolita culture with co-workers.. :)
Oh yeah, I am really no good at bowling.. despite taking bowling for PE in middle school. I actually got one strike though! Wow!!
My grandma kept on being annoying and asking my brother what he thinks of that girl.. Then kept on saying how he gave his email and phone number, while she only gave her email address.. blah blah.. She also wanted to see the girl's handwriting.. (sigh) crazy grandma... she kept on calling the middle matchmaker to ask what the girl thinks of my brother.. I really dislike this kind of nosy business.. Luckily I'm not the oldest.. .
