It had been several days since Yuan had first awakened after being healed. While his periods of consciousness were still brief, he was now aware of his surroundings and was able to form coherent thoughts to a degree, although he still lacked the strength to do much of anything else besides look around the room. Not that it really mattered-- he found it easier to let unconsciousness grant him respite from the guilt and regrets that hounded his waking moments.
The doctors had finally managed to convince Asch to go take care of himself for a bit, assuring him that Yuan would be fine on his own for a while now that he was out of danger. Thus it was that Yuan was left to rest quietly for a short time without Asch's constant presence.
