Good thing I couldn't feel it. There's this really annoying girl in my hall that pokes really hard as a form of greeting, and I'm stuck with her in a Bio workshop :(
So this is going to be all about college, skip if you don't like RLol. Ahaha.
Schedule (R stands for Thursday):
Bio MWF (w/ 2hr workshop, I don't know what we do in it)
Phil MWF (w/ 1hr recitation, reviewing concepts + discussion)
Chem TR (w/ 1hr recitation for hw review, 1hr lab lecture as an intro for the 3hr labs)
Digital Art TR (no extra things, but it's 3 hrs long)
Homework, blah. I like my professors, the Bio and Chem ones are especially quirky. There's a lot of reading for my two science courses, but it's manageable so far. For the first time ever, I can say I enjoy going to all my classes.

I joined Grassroots, the environmental club at the University of Rochester. All the upperclassmen members are hippies, it's so great. I can't wait to work on all the crazy events Grassroots throws for the campus, like Recyclemania, which is a nationwide contest for colleges to see who can recycle the most per capita. Last year, UR came in 118th out of 200-something LOL.
Me and a hallmate started an Intramural Volleyball team called Blue Steel. Yeah, that's right. If we can get people to join, it should be an effing good time. I also joined the Badminton Club, but I don't know if I can commit. I hear that the coach is a senile old Asian lady who's fond of running drills...
So I'm doing pre-med and probably majoring within Biology, and I don't know how I'm going to juggle extracurriculars while maintaining near-perfect grades. Med school is freaking hard to get into as it is, but I want to improve my chances by doing work-study in labs or getting a job at Rochester's teaching hospital, volunteering for EMT, researching with professors, etc. etc. IT SOUNDS CRAZY, I'll admit it. I'm highly ambitious, but I want to enjoy college and take advantage of the fact that I'm at a great school.
Je ne sais jamais. Well I must go finish my hoarded homework before the weekend gets into full gear...the Frat Quad here is MAD HOPPIN. I don't really drink, but dancing and laughing at drunks and druggies is a great pasttime. Actually, the frat houses off-campus are more fun, but my friends think they're way too sketchy. Right, homework.
I haven't flisted for a couple weeks now, I shall have to catch up this weekend. Another assigment! Lol.
Lauren's bed and side of the room.
Birds-eye of the hub of desks. Living in a triple is hard. My desk has the pretty IKEA boxes on the top shelf.
My bunk's on the bottom, Liz is on top. There's Rafa on my bed. We put in a request to loft my bed so me and Liz can slide our desks and dressers under the frame and each have our own private space because I don't like working with my back to the door, especially since we keep it open. Knowing that people could be looking over my shoulder is creepy. Not that I do anything naughty ;(
My dresser is on the bottom, and my closet is on the left. The Harry Potter box is Liz's, I left mine at home. I wish I had it with me...I left a lot of shit at home that I should've brought. There's a lot I'm bringing back during Thanksgiving, too. Yeah, the TV won't get set up until we get my bed lofted and rearrange a little.
View from my bed...hopefully soon, I will be looking down at everything.
We were forced to volunteer at the Public Market (which obviously is an advocate of locally grown food and sustainability) and handed out flyers about lead poisoning. The market has an awesome variety of food, pirated dvds, and random crafts, like these scarecrows!
Lauren, the hipster from Baltimore. Don't think we'll be flying back home together, lol. This is still at the Public Market, which has street musicians, too. The dude playing the string-thing was really talented. I always feel bad for starving artists. Unfortunately, we were told to leave our wallets back in our dorms, so we couldn't give him anything.
My desk how it usually is.
Sorry about the all-around quality. Facebook destroys the good pictures and makes the bad ones worse. I actually got a copy of CS3 from a friend, but you know I usually don't mess with pictures. CS3 might change that, it's so sick. We use it in Digital Art on Macs, which I'm getting used to, though slowly.
