holy hell...that guy in the lower left corner is fucking fugly! and it looks like meth reversed his male pattern baldness! i want some!

as a sidenote...these are very extreme examples of meth abuse. you might even call it... propoganda! for each one of those people there are are an untold number who use meth occasionally and still lead normal lives. meth is the new ecstasy is the new cocaine.

oh and also. you know the drug adderall? the one prescribed to thousands of kids? it's the same as meth minus 1 methyl atom, and the effects are virtually identical. but i'm sure the pharmaceutical lobby genuinely cares about the american public more than they do profits. surely.

Most ADD/ADHD medications are extremely similar to amphetamines and methamphetamines in chemical structure. Ritalin is METHYLphenidate, Dexedrine is dextroAMPHETAMINE...and people wonder why educated parents refuse to pump their children full of this crap.

and why college students everywhere pump themselves full of the crap to study.

Choosing to take these drugs as an adult is up to the person, and they will handle it in their own way. But for pyschiatrists, knowing what the drugs are, to convince unwitting parents they are safe is just wrong. And for parents to blindly follow the psychiatrists' whims and give it to their children (sometimes as young as three), without ever doing the research, is just dumb.

Just my humble opinion as the mother of a five year-old son with ADD/ADHD...who I am proud to say NEVER has been, and NEVER will be on stimulant medication. And also my humble opinion as someone who dealt with the consequences of uneducated parents forcing Ritalin and Dexedrine down my throat for over 6 years.

And I apologize if this sounds in any way snide or condescending. It is not meant to be. This is simply a topic I am passionate and opinionated about, out of love for my son.

Bravo.

I would never put any drug in my child's body either. I'd at least give them a chance to mature and change.

And doctors are so quick to prescribe crap these days. Some never even take into account that kids are sometimes just... being kids! Kids aren't meant to sit, stay, and concentrate indoors for hours. Hell, adults have a hard time doing that. Makes you think about the motivations of physicians and parents... do you really want your child to turn into a lifeless robot?!

Propaganda, extreme cases, well sure. I'm sure these are people who did it every day of their lives instead of the recreational types, and therefore the results are more severe. Extreme case or not, I just know I'm never going near that shit!
