I decided to write to the prompt issued by

Monday Morning Warm-Up:
Write to the prompt, "They told me I couldn't read it..."
Here goes:
They told me I couldn't read it upside down. Then I started flipping from the back, and they told me I couldn't read it backwards. I pointed out that some countries DO read right-to-left, but they told me that we didn't. Then Dan thought he'd be clever and told me I could read a book backwards when the toilet flushed clockwise instead of counterclockwise.
So, I took my book to the mall. They have some crazy eco-toilets. When those flush, they don't circle at all, they just kinda shoot straight down. I decided that the straight jets of water could be interpreted as clockwise, and started reading the last page again.
Then I realized that, unlike the stalls back at the home, the mall toilet stalls were much sturdier. I stepped onto the toilet so I could jump to pull myself onto the wall. I had to keep my chin tucked wicked-tightly against my chest so that I wouldn't drop the book (I'll bet Bruce Campbell from those old Evil Dead movies that I couldn't watch wouldn't have had any problem, since he was an action star with a remarkable chin..).
Anyway, I hung from the stall divider backwards, using my knees to clamp the wall and keep me up. Once I was confident enough in my balance, I grabbed the book from under my chin. I then turned it right-side up so that I could read it upside-down, and returned to the very last page.
Reading was slow, though. My hair kept falling in my eyes. I put the book back under my chin for just a moment, to try to tuck my bangs out of the way.
SPLASH.
Oops.
This would have never happened had I had a chin like Bruce Campbell!
But it wasn't all bad. The eco-toilet had less water than a normal toilet; maybe the book would be ok.
FLUSH.
Oh, yeah. The eco-toilet also had motion sensors.
So, there I hung from the toilet stall wall, blood rushing to my head and hair tickling my face, wondering if this meant I was or was not allowed to read clean or dirty books.

That was a fun writing prompt!
