Puppeo and Julicat

PROLOGUE

Two housepets, both alike in dignity,
    In fair living room, where we lay our scene,
    From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
    Where civil pets make civil rugs unclean.
    From forth the kennel beds of these two foes
    A pair of star-cross'd lovers take the couch;
    Whole misadventured piteous bark'n'meows
    Do with their naps bury their peoples' ouch.
    The fearful passage of their hiss-mark'd love,
    And the continuance of their butt sniffing,
    Which, but their dinner's start, nought could remove,
    Is now the six posts' traffic that we bring;
    The which if you with patient ears attend,
    What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.
