Cars

Last update: About 2 months ago, I think my journal is getting lonely. I'm really lazy and the fact that the one thing my lecturer finds most memorable about me is an entry I wrote on him is kind of disturbing and influencing my posting (Read: extreme, inexcusable laziness). HAHA. Still, I should be at least glad that he hasn't stumbled upon this one. YET.

Two weeks ago I saw this poster for the upcoming Cars 2 movie, kind of reminded me of my recent experiences in cars. First off, I should say I loved Cars, a very nice animated movie. But I should really move on and chronicle this before I forget even more of the details.

Some time in April, the gang and I decided we would go to the McDonald's near uni for lunch. Lu Wee was the designated driver. Now that I think of it, it may not have been the best option we had. lol. Anyway there was this T-junction you had to turn right at to get to the road that led to McD. Lu Wee stopped at the junction, as normal people would. Then tried to exit as this van went swooshing by, which normal people don't usually do. For a moment there, I thought I saw my life flash before me. She later said she didn't actually see it, and if it weren't for me we would've crashed there. Thankfully that didn't happen. =D On the way back she was driving a bit fast, since two of us had to be back at 1pm for a lecture. This particular stretch of road was quite bumpy. Add a speed of 60km/hr and voilà! Instant personal roller coaster. In Zing Tien's immortal words, "The heads of anyone taller would've gone through the roof with all this bumping." A statement I support 100%. Sylvia was sitting in front, trying not to be stabbed by the drinking straw while drinking the coke in a car behaving like a roller coaster. But hey, we all made it back to campus! In one piece! Hahahaha.

Also in April there was this event organised by UniLife called "Curtin Race", I think it's a variation of the amazing race, though I can't be sure since I've never seen the amazing race. A team of four was given a piece of paper with clues and locations, the team was to follow instructions and answer questions and be back in campus by a given time. The first few locations went without a hitch, Then it began raining. On our way to the fourth location, we were travelling down a hill and the car took down this signpost. Poor signpost. =X Sorry! The cause: combination of shoddy brakes and slippery roads. The whole experience was like WOAH! Though I was kinda clueless when the car came to a halt and asked "so where to next?". XD Needless to say we didn't finish the race, the car was sent for repair and the bill for it was over RM2000. RIPPED OFF MAN. Moral: Always ask for an estimate before you're slapped with a huge bill! The good thing that came out of this: our first and last (we're graduating soon) curtin race ended eventfully. How many people can say that? =D
