Oh dear. This isn't how I would have chosen to wake from a nap. Thrown out on my rear... dang...

At first I thought there'd been some mistake, but then this lovely woman showed up and told me otherwise. I recognize her from the war...

Gosh. This is just... not good. I'm starting to worry here. No one seems to know who I am---mind you, I'm not so ( Read more... )

We seem to be having an influx of newcomers as of late. Interesting.

You or me? Perhaps the former, since you don't strike me as parrot-like...

How are you?

You.

Parrot-like? What an interesting adjective.

Hmm. I suppose things have... been rather quiet.

Master Luc is improving, though.

I blame the distinct lack of anything that arouses better metaphors.

And the late hour.

I cannot tell if this "quiet" is a good or a bad thing.

[Filter: Sarah]

Has he woken up, then?

It cannot be that late for you, Albert.

I hardly remember you ever getting rest once you were into your plans.

I find the quiet rather nice. But it would not be safe to assume it would last long.

And you? It was rude of me not to return the question.

[Filter: Albert]

Yes. He has also replied to a few journals, it seems.

A sad attempt at a joke. I'm not very good at them, as you can see.

Yes, there always seems to be something hovering just beyond the horizon. The arrival of Neclord, though expected, is undoubtedly troubling.

I am doing as well as I can be expected to.

[Filter: Sarah]

Hm. And has he shown any desire to face Windy again?

...you were joking? Hmm, that I could. Cannot say I am much for them, myself.

You know of this character?

I had not known things were to be expected, Albert.

[Filter: Albert]

I could not sum up the courage to ask of anything related to that situation.

I know of the vampire; he has often found his way into journals and storybooks alike because of his ... lifestyle. I expected him to be brought over because of his past connections with Windy and Yuber. It was only a matter of time.

Have you no expectations of your own?

[Filter: Sarah]

Perhaps it is for the best. Even if he was willing to face her again, any such meeting in his condition would be fatal.

I need not expect things when you do them already.

I really

really...

No, nothing. Nevermind.

[Filter: Albert]

... perhaps. All though I worry since he has not the True Rune any more if it would be a dramatic or a slower effect. But since he seems to be better, it could be... the latter. I do hope.

If I expected to die in this world, will you expect for yourself?

Perhaps you will be honest with others other than yourself by that time.

[Filter: Sarah]

I really suppose the mystery lies in if the True Wind still thinks of him as its master. That could make all of the difference.

This conversation need not to be public.

[Filter: Albert]

I have been expecting, but I would rather like to not expect something for once and to relax a little. It is all I ask for.

Not that you would care about such a detail of me.

...it should, should it not? It fit like a glove...

He must feel so empty.

If I were to lose this Flowing Rune...

You probably expect the worst, then.

One could contend that details are taken care of and not cared about.

In the few cases concerning True Runes that I have read about, the bearer who relinquished the rune willingly died soon after, while the bearer who was separated but still acknowledged by the rune did not die during the separation.

So if he is still, by all rights, the True Wind's master, he will not die from the separation. And the chances of that seem to be in his favor.

...perhaps I... could have been.

Hmm. So much faith; it is rather refreshing.

...I have heard others have had their runes taken as well.

Could it be a... different method of extraction than the one we have been using?

Expecting the worst and hoping for the best causes great amounts of unnecessary stress. It would be wise to find a balance.

There are undoubtedly other ways to extract a True Rune from its bearer; perhaps more conventional, perhaps less efficient. There are no writings in the One Temple by Windy, so we cannot be sure of her methods.

... Unless Luc has something to say about it.

And you expect what kind of things? Hopeful things?

I hardly had anything I have wanted. How could the best ever happen?

Hm.

I may ask him.

This information may prove important to many.
