I really shouldn't... but as long as it is here, it would be a shame to waste this.

I listened so attentively to that woman, but I just didn't understand. Memories? What does that mean?

Oh, my... I just cannot spend time doing this! Pilika... where did she go? I have to find her, the poor dear, or I shall never forgive myself. HeStill... her ( Read more... )

Oh, gracious! New people showing up! How awful, I've been so busy with the castle...

Er, welcome, sir. Or madame. Er. It's a little hard to tell over these journals.

A castle, you say. I understand you must be quite busy. Thank you so much for welcoming me thus.

Madame, if you please.

Ah, yes, well, we're very short of people, so it's been rather hectic, dealing with so many troops! But we've got a system down, so it isn't so bad.

Ah, well, hello then, ma'am! My name's Thomas, master of Budehuc castle.

Troops? Has something happened?

Well met, Master Thomas of Budehuc. I'm not familiar with that castle, but...

Oh! No, no, nothing at all! Just Sir Maximillian and his grandson have come here to train some new troops, thanks to all the space we have. It's kind of nice to have so many people here! It was pretty empty when we first showed up...

Ahaha, well, um, that's no surprise, really. It's pretty out of the way. Not a lot of people in the area really knows it existed... or, well, exists, I guess.

Sir Maximillian, you say.

Ah... if I may ask, what 'area' are you referring to?

Yes. It's very strange! I came to know his grandson very well, but by that time Sir Maximillian had already been ... gone, quite some time. But this place doesn't really care about that sort of thing, you'll find. There've been a few people come back that I never would have thought...

Well, a-anyways!

Where? Er... oh! Where! Ah, at the western border of the Grasslands, though still in Zexen territory. We're a free trade zone, though!

I see. This... Maximillian. He sounds vaguely familiar, but I'm afraid I cannot place him. Ah, well.

Aha! The Grasslands. I see.

A free trade zone? That must be interesting.

Ah, he's a rather exceptional knight. You should see him yelling at his troops! It's very inspirational! Fred takes very much after him. Gives the place some real energy.

Yes, it's still a little strange to me, coming from the Nameless lands up north, but it's home! Even... if it's not really home right now... I understand how you feel about people left behind. There are a few people that I'd feel much better about having with me...

Oh, ah, yes, yes it is! It's very busy. We had a lot of trouble at first with the Grasslanders and the Zexens at first, but everything sorted itself out eventually! More or less, anyhow...

Forgive me for saying that I have seen all the 'yelling at troops' that I ever need to.

You are from the Nameless Lands? My, what a distance to travel.

Oh? Well, I suppose that's true for some people. I hope everyone who feels the same back home is getting a well-deserved rest!

Er... well... I had a few reasons for coming this way. And like I said, it's home now! So it's not like I have to make the trip back!
