Teehee, I got a wonderful idea. Of course, all my ideas are wonderful, naturally, but this idea surprised even me with it's sheer wonderfulness. And so I'm going to share it with all of you!

Since I'm going to be on the road for the next few weeks, I thought I'd provide you all with an oh-so-thrilling description of my travels, in a feature I like to call Travelling with Maverick: There And Not Coming Back Again.

Today, we'll be taking a look at Greenhill, a town I had originally thought was only a small, backwater town with nothing or no one of import. Guess I was wrong. When I arrived, I found a rather large city bustling with people. I guess that's because I'm in THE FUTURE. I was rather surprised by just how big Greenhill is!

So, before securing lodgings and such, I took a look around. The city is pretty enough. Certainly lives up to the 'Green' in 'Greenhill', but you know, would it kill them to add a little variety? Some mauve to the buildings, or maybe a nice shade of cyan? Regardless, you'll be right at home if green is your thing. Anyway, the people are friendly, the innkeeper is gullible. I also discovered the city now has a rather large school called the Newleaf Academy. This proved to be advantageous for me, because there are plenty of strapping lads at the school (the girls aren't bad either~), who will gladly spend their spare periods with a charming lass like me over a nice lunch at this wonderful cafe, listening intently to the mysteries of magic and Runes. And they're more than happy to pay for said meal as payment for the wonderful discussion (Maverick's Tip! When discussing magic, and Runes, it pays to invent mystical-sounding phrases and terms for added effect. Your mark will eat that up, and it just helps cement the free meal at the end, because they've absorbed so much 'knowledge'. A good costume, like mine, also helps.).

I also discovered that there is a Runemaster in the city, but you can still make a tidy sum by setting yourself up at a high-traffic area down the road from the Runemaster, and offering to attach Runes for half-price. The students, being the poor, starving academicians that they are, will appreciate this, and you can still walk away with a tidy sum.

Anyway, I like Greenhill, now that it is no longer Pigfart, Dunan. It's a good place to make some money, and I certainly can't complain with the accomodations. Teehee, this bed is so soft, and the innkeeper's wife even made me some very delicious soup because 'im tho thik'. (Maverick's Tip!: If trying to score a free, or at least cheap room at the inn, don't go overboard with the sick act; that might just cause the innkeeper to go get a doctor and that's a boatload of trouble. Tell him/her you've spent most of your money on medicine, and offer to pay as much as you can on a room, and work it off when you feel better. Then early the next morning beat a hasty retreat from the inn before everyone wakes up. If the innkeeper is the generous sort, he'll let you stay for free, and if not, at least you're not paying full price. If the innkeeper decides to be a heartless bastard and still demands full price, it isn't worth it; maybe some well-meaning family will put you up for the night.)

Tomorrow is an early morning, and then I'll write again when I reach my next destination, which I do believe will be someplace called Rockaxe. See you soon, dearies~
