Mii Like Wii!

Yes, I, Hollie, have a Nintendo Wii as of Sunday, November 19th. You guessed it, we got it on opening day. First, I'll describe the buying process.

Jon and I had a Wii lined up because a friend reserved it, didn't want it, and then let us have it instead. Later, we found out that Gamestop was all reserved out on the Zelda game; so, we said forget it. Well, the next day we went to Target because I wanted Viva Pinata for the 360 and guess what was there: Yes, it was Zelda. Jon bought Zelda there and we rushed over to Gamestop to get our "reserved" Wii. I traded in my Gamecube system, 2 extra GC controllers, and a PS2 controller; Jon traded in his Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 360 game. All of that came out to be around $70 in store credit. Jon bought the Wii, and I bought Madden '07 and Trauma Center.
We decided to go to BestBuy because we knew that they would have a lot more accessories than any other place (Gamestop was all reserved out on those as well). Unbeknownest(sp?) to us, BestBuy did not have any accessories either. We found the Wii section and it was in a horrible mess; the whole store was. It was hard to find anything at all. I was lucky to find a Wiimote thrown in a section of Gamecube games. I also found a box of the classic controllers to play GC games with.
The fun came in looking for another Nunchuk (that's the joystick controller if you're wondering). Jon and Ben went to Wal-mart while I paid for the Wiimote and Classic controller. Nothing at Wal-mart, so I tried Target while Jon tried EBgames. Still, no luck. We called every possible electronic/game store we could think of. Of all the things we don't find: it's a Nunchuk. And lucky us, no one is getting anymore until after Thanksgiving.

After all is said and done, we set up the Wii at home to play with it.

Me playing Trauma Center. See? I'm in the corner.

Here's my Wii all set up. Exciting isn't it?

Our games. Don't forget that the system comes with Wii Sports.

Later, Ben, Jon, and I made Mii's. A Mii act as your Wii avatar that you can download onto Wiimotes and take them to other Wii's that you visit.

I'll talk about the games a little later. Fun, fun!
