[Sasuke is stalking through the library, deciding that it is one of his favourite places in the new school. Some of the books look a little worse for wear, and he runs his finger down the spine of one such book; it looks tattered and torn, and almost out of place. He picks it off the shelf, and adds it to the pile in his arms - sure to be careful with it

[Hinata is only slightly consumed by the task of cutting out animal shapes out of cardboard. Glitter, glue, various sheets of paper in a multitude of colours: They may as well be the building blocks of life at present.

So naturally, she is appropriately startled when a light tap on the shoulder wrenches her from her current scrapbooking trance.]

Oh- um! [She starts, ever so eloquently, meeting the eyes of Uchiha Sasuke. Until the familiar sight of pink and glitter fashioned into a feline like figure draws her attention.]

[Sasuke hands her the kitten with some reluctance, before taking a furtive glance over his shoulder.

The coast seems clear.

He glances down at the table, strewn with all sorts of crafty bits and peices. But most importantly.. kittens.

He pauses to make sure he is composed, face blank. Though he cannot hide the beginnings of an almost soft smile.]

Could I.. help you make some more?

[His question is soft, though spoken boredly - as though he didn't really care either way. But one hand is already hovering over the back of a chair, ready to pull it out, and get... kitten making.]

[If she knew Uchiha Sasuke - which she did, albeit not in much familiarity - she may as well be still trapped in The Land of Glue and All That is Sparkly. It all honesty, his request is the least likely occurrence she would have envisaged, tying somewhere along the bottom rungs of her Expectation Ladder with "Naruto-kun going on a diet from ramen" and "Kiba-kun becoming an old cat lady".]

... I'd be happy to have Sasuke-san's assistance. [This signals the start of much nervous flailing, clearing some space at the table for his presence.]

[Sasuke almost blinks in surprise - it was not as though he expected her to say no (he is a Uchiha after all) but he feels a little bit of anticipation. It was a shame that he was not allowed a kitten - but it would be too messy, and he had school, and though sneaking a kitten into class seemed like a good idea, he doubted Itachi would be pleased with him

[To add to her confusion, now he's trying to make conversation. She notes that she will have to re-evaluate her past image of his character. Not that she thought that cardboard kitten cut-outs were beyond him, (even though she kind of did) but the fact that he's bothering to give someone like her the light of day-

Well, it was sort of nice. And in a way, that step of his prompts her not to shy away this time.]

I... think it's a good way of preserving memories. That way, I can look back onto it- and- also look forward to filling in the pages with happenings in the future. I guess? [Aaaand she'll just clamp her mouth shut there. So she's sentimental. She shouldn't bore him with such.]
