"Rock, bring out the canvas. We need to cover the body."
"We don't need it, Dutch. She's good as she is. Sleeping, turned towards the sky and watching the sea."
When I opened the update dialog, it asked whether I wanted to bring up an old draft. Curious as ever, I replied "yes" and was promptly confronted with a bit of unpleasant internal dialogue. (...of course I'm not telling you everything.) It might be that during the last few days the scenics had altered a bit, but my feelings were pretty much along the same lines as back then. Suffice to say, though, it's maybe not the most prudent of subjects to bring out in a public discussion - even as one-sided as this. So on to things I can talk about.
Black Lagoon has been captivating so far (15 of 24 episodes in). The animation is nice and I dig the characters (stereotypes as they are - but then again, we're talking anime here, so gimme a break already!). Especially the in-your-face gung-ho female lead Revy (or Levi, or what have you). There's definately something about her. One might even go as far as to use the term internal conflict... But we'll see where that one thread leads.
Today I filed my fingernails and then played guitar for more than an hour straight. Not a good move. I don't know if it's a flaw in my technique or just the stress of the filing, but my fingers always start to hurt if I do that. In the evening I had to rehearse a bit for a couple of songs with my steel-string acoustic. With my fingertips already aching, it was a bit of a pain. I couldn't get even the simplest barre chord right and had to resort to weird chord translations all the way through. (Though anything that gets me training the theory side of music can't be that bad, right?)
It's funny how I really don't want to go to bed these days. I swear this place is more of a meat-locker than a student flat. Of course it might be just a question of semantics, but in that case I probably should be looking into suing PSOAS for defamation. ("Negative, I'm a meat popsicle.") But be that as it may, I'd best head off to shiver between my covers and wait for the dawn. It's a new day tomorrow - and I heard there'll be six next week!
