this is about being caught
Do you know- it's been a long time since I've listened to Adam & the Ants. I have an album of theirs, Prince Charming. It's pretty good. The album cover is of Adam, in the now totally illegal and outrageous garb of the early '80's. He is so confident in this decade- Brocaded shirt concreted hair black nail polish & primary colored make-up. M has informed me that Adam made all of his own clothing back in the day. How he knows this, ??
I do feel this pang of discomfort when I turn the album over. The Ants are on the back, all four of them. They are also dressed to the hilt, perhaps designed by Adam. There's one Ant- he's got this look on his face that seems to scream "Why the fuck am I wearing this puffy gold lame shirt, these pirate pants, yellow tassels, this rouge, shiny lip gloss?!? How did I get here?" He's one unhappy Ant. All the other Ants look so self-assured in their heavy foundation & ruffly vests.

A bird's basting in the o. Jawa ate part of the neck when I cleaned it this morning. Then she stood on her hind legs & batted at the pompoms on my mukluks-
Had a dream where I was raiding people's homes for their coconut custard pies & their dilaudid. They called the police as I swallowed a bottle of sedatives & drifted away...
