Due to increasing financial concerns, I discussed with my diet coach the possibility of switching to a less intensive diet. I've mentioned a couple times that I had been considering it for a while, but wanted to continue so that I could lose as much weight as I could before going to the slower paced Healthy Solutions. Healthy Solutions is cheaper because it is not medically supervised. I don't have to see a doctor every week, nor do I have blood work done. The reason is, the calorie intake is so much greater. Well, it can be. I can still eat very little.
Anyways, I mentioned to her that this was something I was thinking of and today, I made my decision. I can't afford the expense right now. So, I switched. I will continue to lose, sure, it will just be slower because I now have to eat at minimum 5 servings of fruits and veggies a day. After 7 months of...well. Most of you have seen what I'm limited to, and those of you who haven't, lets just say there isn't much variety, and you get sick of it pretty soon. But I never cheated. Not once. Anyways, adding 5 servings of fruits and veggies is NOT going to be a hardship. I stopped off at Whole Foods on my way home and went a bit nuts. They say you should start off with cooked veggies so your body can adjust to the increased fiber, but none of us are really concerned too overly much because I've been eating solid food all along in the form of the entrees.
I stopped off at Safeway too and got some canned wax beans and corn so I could start right away. 4 shakes, 1 meal, and 2 veggies a day for a week. I got home. Put the food away, opened the wax beans...and heaven. Bliss. I can't wait to get to the Strawberries in a couple days. They looked outstanding, and smelled so yummy. I can add them to a vanilla shake. I got baby carrots and fat free dip. There are so many choices as compared to before, and everyone I spoke to said this was the right move for me. I've lost 65 pounds so far. I'm hoping this change will inspire my body and my spirit enough to lose those last 40 or 50.
