Take me out to a ball game

Friday night we had our team outting which was the Giants/A's game over in Oakland. I have no emotional stake in those teams at all, so I was basically there because hey, the company paid for my ticket. I had a good time though. Mark came along as a guest and we always have a good time at sporting events. I cheered for the A's as the lesser of 2 evils. See, to me, the American league is an abomination. I am anti-designated hitter rule. The pitcher is a member of the team, he should have to hit!

It was raining as we BARTed over, and there was a small delay, but the evening cleared up, and it was a great night to be out. Mark and I forgot to change trains, but even with having to back up we were still there befre the game started and before everyone else on the team. I had fun hanging out with my boss, who is totally cool. Her best friend and "soulmate" is a gay man, and of course we got on. We all sat there ogling the ball players and just having fun. Except Mark, he didn't ogle. He did have fun though.

Saturday Mark and I drove down to Santa Clara for a Pinball/Arcade auction. We saw a few things we wanted. Especially an Adams Family game in really good condition. We would have loved to bid on that, but I'm fairly certain it would have gone for at least 3 grand. We were going to stay and see, but neither one of us had eaten, and Mark had a Fanime meeting to attend at 1. We really do want a pinball machine. That is one of our biggest complaints about California. Not enough pinball.

baseball, work
