Well, I saw Collateral last night. Excellent movie. It had a very fair share of ass kicking, knee snapping, stabbing, and eviscerating just like the recent Bourne Supremacy. However, Collateral had a deeper, more philosophical meaning to it, it had a purpose, it was made to make you think, not to simply entertain, and I think that gives it a leg up on Bourne. I think I would really have to watch the movie again to get a better grasp of the thematic message, but I can basically describe it as challenging your perception of purpose, and personal duty. It makes you think about why we all get up in the morning and work for success, only to be inevitably met with old age, death, and then God knows what. It questions the meaning of purpose when as far as we know this part of our own existence could be meaningless, or in that case the only form of existence.
I'm sure you get the idea that I enjoy something that gets me thinking like that.
